Crews from Black Hills Energy will be in Saratoga next month to replace natural gas service to about 30 households on Hickory Street. The work to replace aging steel pipeline with polyethylene pipe and new meters will begin in early November and conclude by the end of December.

The Hickory Street Loop is the continuation of natural gas system work that began in 2021. Most of the work will be done in alleyways.

Brief outages should be expected when the switch is made from the old service to the new line.

In a release Monday, Black Hills Energy said it will provide scheduling information to affected customers to minimize inconvenience.

The company has contracted with NPL, construction crews will be restoring the travel surfaces in the alleyway as the project progresses.
