Carbon County Search and Rescue recently conducted a three-day effort searching for any signs of Mark Strittmater, the hunter who went missing in an early season snowstorm last October.

Between June 26th and June 28th, 19 searchers, several K-9 units, and a drone looked for Strittmater. The search turned up no signs of the missing man. A command post was set up at the intersection of Forest Service Roads 830 and 801.

Sheriff Archie Roybal told Bigfoot 99 the search party went over the same areas that were searched last fall, and also expanded the search to new areas. Despite this, the search was inconclusive. The Sheriff described the search as “difficult,” noting the area had a lot of deadfall even before it experienced a major blow-down during the big wind event last month.

Weather conditions on the weekend Strittmater went missing included rain and then heavy snowfall. Temperatures in the area were 0-degrees F and below in the following days.

Sheriff Roybal said his department will continue the search for the missing hunter in order to bring his family closure. Any tips or other information can be directed to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office at 307-324-2776.
