The fifth case of the novel coronavirus has been confirmed in Carbon County, according to the local public health office.

In a release Thursday night, Regional Nursing Supervisor Jacqueline Wells stated that the 70-year-old man lives in the county and is self-isolating hat home.

The state health department and the local public health office are conducting contact tracing as part of their follow-up with the case.

As of Friday at noon, the state’s total number of laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 was 415.
