Encampment opposes valley-wide billing system

In Encampment, resistance to a proposed centralized billing system for the Platte Valley’s landfill district is high. Encampment wants the billing left with their town clerk.

During a recent discussion between the town council there and members of Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District, the reason for changing to a consolidated, valley-wide billing system became apparent: Frustration with the ongoing bookkeeping problems at the Saratoga Town Hall. Rawlins city leaders feud

In Rawlins: one city councilman’s attempt to introduce a resolution to provide oversight when the city manager seeks outside legal advice sparked a confrontation this week.

Other business was put on hold Tuesday night as Councilman Aaron Durst and City Manager Scott Hannum argued over an issue that dates back to the 2018 election. Cali O’Hare has the story.

 

 

Rawlins employees, volunteers recognized for holiday food deliveries

Also during Tuesday’s Rawlins City Council meeting, the city clerk took time during to celebrate the employees and volunteers involved with the holiday food basket deliveries. Cali O’Hare reports.
