Minor delays expected as Rawlins road repairs continue

The street rehab work in Rawlins continues for a third day today. STC Construction of Cheyenne is doing the wear-coursing work. This morning, STC President Chris Olsen shared the upcoming work plan with Bigfoot 99.

Residents in neighborhoods where the work is happening should expect some minor inconveniences. The work will continue for the next two weeks.

With the Primary Election less than a month away, candidates have been making appearances at public forums in the county. Tomorrow, voters will be able to get a more one-on-one impression of those vying for state, county and municipal office at an informal meet and greet in Rawlins. The Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event. Cali O’Hare has more.

 

 

Saratoga officials seek public feedback at upcoming workshop

In Saratoga, the Town Council and Planning Commission are hosting a joint workshop on Tuesday to discuss the town’s buffer zone and future flood prevention ordinances. Emma Diercks reports that town officials are looking for public feedback at the workshop.

 

 

Wyoming among most dangerous states for motorcyclists

A recent study using date from the National Highway Traffic Administration puts Wyoming in the top 10 most dangerous states for motorcyclists. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

Paving projects begin on WYO 130 and WYO 230

WYDOT crews in Saratoga loaded up trucks and other equipment at the state shop in the Platte Valley early Thursday morning as a big paving project swung into action. Crews will be improving segments of WYO 130 and WYO 230. The first leg of the project involves paving the Snowy Range Road on the Saratoga side of WYO 130. That work began yesterday and continues today. Paving on WYO 230 will take place from Encampment south on 230 beginning Monday. Work will continue into the following week. Drivers should be prepared for road construction and possible delays while work takes place.

Sheriff candidates discuss changes and ideas in Saratoga forum

The three candidates running for Carbon County Sheriff shared their visions for the law enforcement office at a candidate forum Wednesday evening in Saratoga. They discussed providing law enforcement in smaller communities and changes they hope to implement in the department. Emma Diercks reports.
