This past summer, the legislature’s transportation committee voted down a bill putting a toll on Interstate 80.

Instead, lawmakers moved a bill that would put a usage charge on those traveling Wyoming’s highways in order to maintain the state’s roads.

This method would charge drivers based on mileage data collected by GPS or odometer readings. The bill will be introduced during the general session. Emma Diercks has the story.
