The Wyoming State Legislature is meeting in special session this weekend. Lawmakers will consider four bills aimed at providing financial relief and support to Wyoming communities, workers and businesses impacted by the novel coronavirus. It is the first special session of the Wyoming legislature since 2004.

Governor Mark Gordon said Wednesday he looks forward to the assistance of lawmakers in directing where the $1.25 billion in federal CARES Act funding go.

The two-day session will be live-streamed. Only a dozen or less of the lawmakers are expected to be in Cheyenne at the Capitol Building. Most members of the House and the Senate will be joining through the Zoom meeting platform over the internet.

House Speaker Steve Harshman and Senate President Drew Perkins will preside over the sessions from the chambers in the State Capitol. The session began at 8:00 a.m.
