Saratoga officials working towards public comment period for “Zone of Influence”

Saratoga’s Planning Commission continues to work out an agreement with the county that would allow the town to provide public comment for planning and zoning changes taking place just outside town limits. Emma Diercks reports on the so-called “Saratoga Zone of Influence.”

Speed limit increases on I-80 stretch near Rawlins

Drivers couldn’t take advantage of the increase this weekend because of the wintry weather, but the speed limit on Interstate 80 west of Rawlins was raised to 80 miles per hour late last week. The higher speed is part of a statewide trend on Wyoming roadways. Cali O’Hare has the story.

 

 

Encampment officials decide against rumble strips to slow highway traffic

In Encampment, officials decided Thursday evening not to invest in permanent rumble strips to slow down traffic where Wyoming 70 enters the town. Temporary strips used over the summer to test their effectiveness at traffic control did not produce the results town officials wanted. Emma Diercks reports.

Rawlins residents could see hike in utility bills

Rawlins residents could soon see big increases to their utility bills. City officials are exploring ways to generate seven to 10 times more revenue than current fees now raise. If put into effect, residential users could see their bills increase by more than 52 percent annually, while business would see their utility bills jump from 82 to 142 percent.
