The Rawlins City Council will hold a special meeting this evening.
Several items are on the agenda published this past Friday. The governing body will hold a public hearing to consider an Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget for expenditures.
Following the budget amendment, the city council will consider the budget on third and final reading.
Also tonight, the governing body will hold a public hearing on recodifying Chapter 8.16 of municipal code which deals with junked or abandoned vehicles on property in the city. Council will work to clarify the language in the ordinance, streamline court procedures, and create an automatic grace period with the goal of improving compliance. The goal of the changes is to improve beautification efforts in the community.
Several items of unfinished business are also on the agenda, including ratification of a memorandum of understanding between Rawlins and the Town of Sinclair Police Department regarding impounding and shelter services at the Rochelle Animal Shelter.
Tonight’s special meeting of the Rawlins City Council will begin at 6:00 p.m.
