Rawlins City Council will meet in special session Friday night. Two items are on tonight’s agenda.

The first item is to consider reinstating the trash haulers license to Dirty Boyz Sanitation that council revoked earlier this week. According to staff notes, the garbage collection company has apparently conceded on the major point that led to the revocation of the license. Dirty Boyz will resume hauling trash it collects in Rawlins to the city-owned transfer station. The concession opens the door to discussions on other issues, including the tipping fee charged at the facility.

Sources close the situation say concerns about public health and safety led to the tentative agreement.

Also on tonight’s special session agenda is the formation of a working water group. The committee will work with State Senator Larry Hicks on Rawlins’ water issues.

The special session, announced Friday morning, will convene at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers tonight, Nov. 18.
