Held every month from September to May, MHCC offers a different guest speaker and topic. The online provider workshop is held exclusively through Facebook. January 29th’s event will focus on the hospital’s new wound care clinic. Hinkle said the clinic was a needed addition to the region.

Besides wound care, MHCC is now offering two additional types of medical services. Hinkle said February’s provider workshop will focus on injection treatments.

On February 8th, the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County is hosting an in-person open house. MHCC’s communications director said meeting the medical providers is a great way for people to learn about the new services offered at the hospital.

Before Covid, Hinkle said the hospital used to have regular open houses. With the panic over, Hinkle said she is pleased to have people visit the hospital again.

February’s open house will spotlight the hospital’s wound care clinic, nuclear imaging, and infusion services. According to a flyer provided by MHCC, nuclear medicine is used to study tissue and organ functions. Using a DEXA bone scanner, clinicians are able to measure bone, fat, or muscle density, allowing them to diagnose degenerative diseases, such as osteoporosis.

Also new to the hospital is a suite of infusion related services. Through intravenous injections, hospital staff can offer transfusions and immunotherapy to treat a variety of blood related conditions. Hinkle described the benefit of having this type of medical treatment in-house.

January 29th’s wound care provider workshop will be streamed online on the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County’s Facebook page from 12 to 1 p.m.

The MHCC open house is on February 8th at the hospital in Rawlins from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
