In Rawlins, although the 2020 cull of urban deer is not yet underway, citizens will soon be able to sign up to receive the processed meat once it’s ready.

The municipality expects to receive its Chapter 56 permit from Wyoming Game and Fish this week.

Signups for the meat begin in October, with the cull itself set to begin in November. The venison, processed into hamburger meat with 10 percent suet, will then be dispersed in December. Cali O’Hare reports.
