The Rawlins Fire Department is applying to FEMA for a $1.18 million grant that would allow the municipal department to purchase a fire engine company to replace a 1989 model, along with 25 sets of structural firefighting gear and 36 self-cotained breathing apparatus — bringing it back into compliance with standards set by the National Fire Protection Association.
