A skills-based suicide intervention training class will be held this coming Wednesday and Thursday in Saratoga.

The program is called ASIST, and stands for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.

The goal of the program is to help participants feel more ready, willing, and able to help a person at-risk. Knowing what to do in emergency situations can help save a life, so suicide first aid is part of the two-day workshop.

The event will be held October 5th and 6th at the Platte Valley Community Center. To RSVP, contact Tracy Young at (307) 760-7073. The $350 cost has been pre-paid by the Wyoming Department of Health.
