This weekend is the tenth annual Carbon County Library System’s Pumpkin Run. This Saturday, area residents are invited to the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course for the 2024 Rawlins Pumpkin Run. Carbon County Library Foundation Vice President Mira Miller explained that the Pumpkin Run offers fun activities for families, such as races and an obstacle course.
Every participant of the Jack-Be-Little race receives a small wearable pumpkin medal. The top three runners in both the 2K and 5K races win custom trophies. Miller explained that all the awards were designed and created in Rawlins.
In addition to the races, attendees can also participate in the Tough Pumpkin Obstacle Course. Miller said the timed event requires runners to navigate a pumpkin through a short series of tasks. The library foundation vice president said the event is fun for both kids and adults.
Carbon County Library staff will also be running a fall-themed ceramic painting craft booth during the Pumpkin Run. A bounce house and a slide will be available for younger attendees.
New to this year’s event is a stroller decorating contest. Miller said participants can dress up their strollers with a pumpkin theme for a chance to win prizes.
Thanks to donations from local sponsors, the Carbon County Library Foundation purchased 125 pumpkins from local vendors. Everyone who buys a ticket to Saturday’s event will receive a pumpkin. A family ticket allows people to take up to three pumpkins.
Miller thanked the sponsors who helped the library put on this event.
