The UW Board of Trustees approved a new contract for university president Ed Seidel at its regular meeting on January 20, 2023.

Seidel became the University of Wyoming’s 28th president on July 1, 2020. His current contract was set to expire on June 30th of this year.

Board President John McKinley said in a statement said that the 12-member board, all appointed by the governor, look forward “to the university advancing in providing an excellent education for students while moving the state forward in key research areas for the benefit of Wyoming and the region.”

Seidel’s new contract includes a pay raise from a base salary of $365,000 annually to an annual base salary of $390,000 for the first year of the three-year package with an escalator to $403,000 for the third year. The annual housing allowance of $60,000 a year also will increase to $64,000 in the final year.
