The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in the Snowy Range Mountains north of Turpin Reservoir on June 6th, causing significant damage to hundreds of softwood pine trees in the area.

The tornado developed 14 miles southwest of Arlington, tracked rapidly to the north/northeast, and dissipated about a quarter of a mile above Bow River Campground in the Medicine Bow National Forest. Cali O’Hare has the story.
