Eagles Club shuts doors

After 23 years of operation within the City of Rawlins, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club has closed its doors for good.

During City Council and County Commissioner meetings held last Tuesday, the governing bodies approved a landfill fee waiver for the outgoing nonprofit and a special use permit for an incoming business.

Cali O’Hare was at both meetings and filed this report.

Panic spreading faster than coronavirus in Rawlins

Stores in Rawlins were hit hard, and abruptly, by area residents stocking up on cleaning supplies, disinfectants, hand sanitizer and, for some reason, toilet paper.

Over at City Market, employees are limiting the purchase of these items as they work to restock some of their shelves Wednesday morning.

One worker told Bigfoot 99 it was business as usual over the weekend, but then “something changed, and everyone came in and bought everything.”

As a result of the panic-purchasing, City Market is restricting the purchase of all sanitizing, cold and flu products to five items per customer.

At Walmart, toilet paper shelves remain barren.
