Today’s Headlines:

  • The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is looking to use money seized in area drug busts to purchase a K-9 and K-9 Patrol Vehicle as part of an effort to catch even more bad guys.
  • Carbon County Public Health no has additional funding available to assist area residents struggling to cover the cost of future medical expenses.
  • Officer down and Memorial Hospital of Carbon County is stepping up to help. Casper Police Officer Jacob Carlson was shot in the line of duty on May 6th and is now recovering. To honor him, MHCC will host a replenishment blood drive tomorrow.
  • If you have been holding off on buying your prison stripes and participating in the annual Pen to Pen Fun Run in Rawlins, you are encouraged to do so before it is too late. Officials at the Old Pen say the numbers just aren’t there to support the yearly fundraiser.
  • Sinclair Refining Company has partnered with the Casper Events Center to sell tickets for shows at six locations around the state. In addition to Rawlins, Sinclair Tix is selling tickets at participating Sinclair gas stations in Casper, Cheyenne, Riverton, and Rock Springs. Ryta Sondergard, the refinery’s community relations manager here in Carbon County, said the alliance is about more than ticket sales. Sondergard says it’s a way to raise money for the local communities where the ticket offices are located.
  • The Saratoga track team will have one of the larger rosters at the state meet this weekend in 1A after concluding a solid regular season.
