As we reported earlier this week, the Rawlins High School football team forfeited its game with Douglas on Friday because of what administrators described as a “COVID situation.”

Outlaw players were placed in quarantine, but they’ll be back this week. The homecoming game has been rescheduled for this Friday in a game against Lander. The RHS Stampede band will perform at halftime of what will also be Senior Night.

The Lander Tigers are coming off a 17-7 win over Riverton — the annual rivalry game known as the Battle of Fremont County.

Elsewhere last week: 1A 9-Man: Saratoga lost to Southeast 48-16. The Panthers travel to Wright for a Friday night game.

1A 6-Man #1 Little Snake River put a big win over #3 Meteetsee, 29-23. LSR head coach Jack Cobb said it doesn’t matter who is ranked what in the 1A West, every week is a dog fight.

Thanks to David Settle and WyoPreps for that audio. The win by the Rattlers clinched the top seed from the West Conference in the Class 1A-6 man playoffs. But head coach Jack Cobb said it doesn’t get any easier.

In last week’s cross-county battle, #2 Encampment rolled HEM 58-12. Dubois hosts Encampment Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. HEM is at Hulett.
