Downtown Rawlins businesses remain open during construction
Another round of temporary street closures is coming to downtown Rawlins. Now that the stamping work in the center lane of Cedar Street is complete, crews from a Rock Springs-based asphalt company will begin the restriping project today.
As a result, motorists can expect street, but sidewalks and businesses will remain open. Cali O’Hare has more.

CCSD2 prioritizes security vestibules
The summer break from school usually signals the beginning of construction season for Carbon County School District Two.
This year, however, the district is taking a year off from large projects and instead, gearing up for new security vestibules for the summer of 2020. Emma Diercks reports.
Scammers target local Verizon customers
A new phone scam is making the rounds and Carbon County residents are advised to be wary of any unsolicited calls or emails they may receive from Verizon.
The cell phone giant will never reach out to customers by telephone directly, but spoofers pretending to represent the company will, and if they succeed in obtaining your information, they’ll use it to take over your account. Cali O’Hare reports.
State organizations honored for North Platte restoration
Throughout the past decade, Wyoming Game and Fish, Trout Unlimited and the Saratoga Encampment Rawlins Conservation District have worked together to restore several sections of the North Platte River and its tributaries.
Now, those efforts have been celebrated with a U.S. Forest Service award, which was presented last week in Washington D.C. Emma Diercks reports.
