Zeiger out as emergency management coordinator
Two days before the North Platte River came out of its banks and caused minor flooding in Saratoga and Sinclair, Carbon County’s emergency management coordinator was relieved of his duties.
Officials yesterday confirmed that long-time coordinator John Zeiger has been replaced. Cali O’Hare has the story.
Platte Valley towns renew landfill contracts
The three towns in the Platte Valley recently approved one-year contracts with the Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District for landfill services.
In the past, these contracts have been for three-year terms, however, the landfill is looking to implement its own billing system next year.
The Saratoga Town Council expressed concerns about the transition. Emma Diercks has the story.
Committee appointments raise concern in Rawlins
The Rawlins City Council recently appointed three individuals to sit on a special committee of the Police Civil Service Commission. The committee is tasked with reviewing and revising the policies that officers must follow regarding promotional testing and job descriptions.
Because of this, some members of the city council expressed concern over the perception of appointing other police officers to serve on the committee. Cali O’Hare has been following the story and filed this report.
USFS to reissue project report
The U.S. Forest Service will rerelease its Draft Record of Decision on the Medicine Bow Landscape Vegetation Analysis.
The first was issued in April, however, the forest supervisor identified improvements that need to be made regarding public participation for each portion of the large-scale project. Emma Diercks has more.
