New wind farm planned

Another wind farm is in the works on the Carbon and Albany County lines.

A Canadian company is proposing two projects that are expected to produce a total of 780 megawatts of power. Emma Diercks has the story.

School resource officer coming to CCSD1

Officials expect to hire a school resource officer to be hired for the upcoming school year, which begins August 15th.

Both the Rawlins City Council and the Carbon County School District One Board of Trustees are slated to sign off on a Memorandum of Understanding this week.

The MOU will allow a guard to patrol Rawlins campuses. Cali O’Hare has the latest in this story.

Fatal crash near Riverside

2019 continues to be a deadly year on Wyoming highways. A motorcyclist from Colorado died on WYO 230 south of Riverside Saturday afternoon.

Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that 67-year-old Breckenridge resident Harry Gardner failed to negotiate a curve at mile marker 130 and drove his northbound Harley Davidson off the road and crashed.

The patrol reports that driver fatigue, inattention or a possible medical condition are being investigated as possible causes. So far this year, 86 people have died on state highways compared to 54 last year.

Encampment officials to review zoning

The Encampment Town Council plans to review its zoning ordinances after a resident proposed developing storage units in the business district. Currently, the town does not have a place for that type of facility. Emma Diercks reports.

 

 

WYDOT hosts public presentations on projects

As part of an annual presentation scheduled for later this week, the Wyoming Department of Transportation will provide details and updates related to several long-term projects scheduled to improve stretches of interstate, highways and bridges in Carbon County over the next six years. Cali O’Hare has the details on the upcoming meetings.
