Centralized 911 dispatch could be coming to Carbon County
Area officials plan to move forward with a study to determine the feasibility of creating a central emergency dispatch center in the county.
Last week, the Carbon County Council of Governments listened to a presentation given by County Fire Warden John Rutherford and Rawlins City Manager Scott Hannum. The concept is still in the early stages. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare sat down with Chief Rutherford and filed this report.
Saratoga officials on board
The Saratoga Fire Department is on board with a consolidated 911 dispatch system. Earlier this week, department officials made a presentation to Town Council. While some councilmen appear interested, Mayor John Zeiger said he’s looking for an assurance that merging won’t cost more than what the town currently pays for dispatch services.
Rawlins street rehab project half complete
In Rawlins: the summer street rehab project is moving right along, reaching the half-way point Tuesdays afternoon. Crews from the city and STC Construction are resurfacing streets in Ward 3 this week. Cali O’Hare has the latest update from the city’s streets department.
Saratoga hires new accountant
The Saratoga Town Council has hired an outside accountant to review the municipality’s finances.
Now, the governing body is analyzing where the accountant should focus his efforts. Emma Diercks has the story.
