Officials battle over Sunday landfill closures

The conversation about the Saratoga Landfill being closed on Sundays was brought up again at last week’s town council meeting. Emma Diercks was there and filed this report.

 

 

A grainy snapshot taken by a minor female from inside the home of Samantha Webber confirms Rawlins Police Officer Thom Gamblin’s personal white dodge pickup truck was in the driveway at Webber’s home on Saturday, July 6th while the officer was off-duty. In a formal complaint investigated and upheld by the department, Webber says he failed to identify himself as law enforcement, but he did shout insults and threats at her as he followed her back to her home.

Off-duty cop involved in road rage incident

A Rawlins policeman, already the subject of a formal complaint for aggressive behavior during a bar check last year, is now implicated in a recent case of road rage.

A local woman and a minor in her care describe the incident as “horrific.” The two were followed and then confronted outside her home by a person who was later identified as an off-duty Rawlins cop.

Elk Mountain, Bairoil apply for abandoned mine land grants

Two more towns in the county have joined Hanna in applying for Abandoned Mine Land grants. A representative from the state office of DEQ said all the municipalities in Carbon County are eligible for the funding. Emma Diercks has more.
