CCSD1 to discuss RHS west end project

What to do with the west end of the Rawlins High School campus is back on the agenda of the Carbon County School District One Board of Trustees.

Building a soccer field there failed to garner much support earlier this year as board members weighed how best to spend the school district’s money. Emma Diercks previews this week’s discussion.

 

 

Grandparent caregivers share experiences

The Carbon County Alliance for Drug Endangered Children reconvened yesterday after taking a break over the summer. The first meeting back was an emotional one.

The group — comprised of professionals in health care, law enforcement, social work and education — listened to two Carbon County grandparents discuss their experiences raising their grandchildren as their children battle addiction.

Temporary Forest Service road closure planned

The Deep Jack Road in the Sierra Madres, also known as Forest Service Road 830, will is temporarily closed throughout the week for hazardous tree removal.

The road will be open on weekends until October 31st, however, to accommodate hunters. Emma Diercks reports.

9/11 remembrance ceremony today in Rawlins

It’s been 18 years since a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks against the United States killed nearly 3,000 people, many of them first responders. Today, area residents are invited to attend what has become an annual remembrance ceremony of 9/11.
