Saratoga weighs landfill agreement
In Saratoga, Mayor John Zeiger and the town council are considering an early termination to the community’s agreement with the Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District.
The landfill board is set to discuss the item on Wednesday. Town council will pick up the topic on November 19th. Emma Diercks reports.
Rawlins continues work on code changes
In Rawlins: City administrators have spent three years working on a series of proposed amendments to a portion of the municipal code, Title 19. This summer, city council pushed back against the 157-pages of proposed changes.
One of the deal-breakers was a provision to grandfather-in properties that are not in compliance with current code. City staff will bring the document to council in a work session scheduled for tonight. Cali O’Hare has more.
Lawmakers advance jail credit bill
State lawmakers voted last week to advance a bill that would allow inmates to receive a “good time served” allowance for time spent in a county jail while awaiting transfer to a state facility.
Currently, these inmates don’t start receiving reduced sentences until they enter a Wyoming Department of Corrections facility. Emma Diercks reports.
Boys and Girls Club fundraiser this weekend
Officials at the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County are gearing up for this weekend’s fundraising dinner.
When it comes to money-generating events, this is the club’s biggest fundraising effort.
Organizers say they hope to raise at least $15,000 this weekend to help support the club in Rawlins.
