Ice rink opens Saturday in downtown Rawlins

The ice rink in downtown Rawlins opens this weekend in conjunction with Small Business Saturday. Last week, students from the Carbon County Higher Education Center assembled the portable rink on Front Street.

Sheriff’s office covering for local vacancies

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office has been busy helping three municipalities with backfilling gaps in law enforcement.

The three towns working to establish their own police forces in the meantime. Emma Diercks has the story.

Rawlins rejects property offer

Rawlins City Council last week unanimously rejected a citizen’s offer to purchase municipal property located on the east end of the city.

The “no” vote has more to do with following state laws than not wanting to sell the land. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

 

Saratoga VFD just short of bunker gear fundraising goal

The Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department is on a mission to raise $210,000. The money will be used to equip firefighters with new bunker gear.

So far, the department has raised about 83 percent of its goal. Emma Diercks reports.
