Rawlins ordinances may fuel seasonal housing woes
The seasonal housing shortages in Rawlins may not see any relief from city codes concerning manufactured homes. One developer recently cited language in Title 16 as a reason not to do business in Rawlins. Cali O’Hare has the story.
Story update: Danielle Gross at the Rawlins Public Works Department told Bigfoot 99 Thursday that she is still in touch with the developer who hopes to build an RV park. An additional presentation will be made to city council in the coming weeks.
Board seeking earthwork bids ahead of landfill closure
The end is near for the Saratoga landfill. With the closure date looming ever closer, the Upper Platte River Solid Waste Disposal District has begun accepting bids for the earthwork portion of the project. Emma Diercks reports.
Commissioners’ scholarship open to Carbon County students
Carbon County students planning to attend an in-state university or community college in the fall are eligible to receive scholarship money from the Board of County Commissioners. A total of four scholarships are available, and the application period opened this week. Cali O’Hare has more.

WGFD plans to collar new bighorn sheep
Wyoming Game and Fish plans to collar bighorn sheep in the Ferris Seminoe Herd Unit to monitor any movement to the Pedro Mountains.
The state wildlife agency says last summer’s Pedro Mountain Fire may provide habitat favorable to the sheep. However, wildlife managers don’t want the wild animals to co-mingle with any domestic sheep that pasture in the area. Emma Diercks has the story.
