Principal candidates to answer questions at public forum

Three candidates for the position of Saratoga Middle High School principal will be interviewed at a public forum Monday evening.

Both district officials and community members will have a chance to ask questions. Emma Diercks has the story.

MHCC cleanup continues

The mop-up and repair operations at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins continues. Remediation efforts began also immediately after the situation was first reported Monday.

Extensive flooding in the original hospital wing was the result of multiple failures in the hydronic heating system. Outside firms have been hired to deal with the repairs and clean-up, but hospital employees are also pitching in. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare has the latest.

Critical access hospital grant approved

At the request of the Platte Valley Healthcare Committee, the Saratoga-Carbon County Impact Joint Powers Board will sponsor a grant for the extension of water and sewer service to the site of a proposed critical access hospital south of town limits. The grant is for about $1.2 million. Emma Diercks has the story.

County buildings need repairs

During Monday’s Board of Carbon County Commissioners meeting, the county’s buildings manager reported recent electrical and equipment failures at both the county jail and community center. To replace the broken equipment won’t be cheap. Cali O’Hare has more.

 

 

Sports: County hoopsters on the road this weekend

The weekend is full of road trips for the high school basketball teams as only a couple of match-ups are slated to take place in the county. Joey Saverine has the preview.
