Crews work to re-open I-80 after massive pile-up

Interstate 80 is expected to open later today. The highway across southern Wyoming has been closed since Sunday afternoon when two massive pile-ups near Wamsutter in blizzard conditions involving nearly 150 vehicles and left three dead.

The aftermath was a mile-long rash scene of tangled vehicles one on top of another in some case.

Clean-up crews spent Monday clearing the roadway while the highway patrol continued its investigation. Cali O’Hare has the rest of the story.

Airport board decides on expansion design

The Saratoga Airport Advisory Board last week selected one of three designs for the apron expansion.

The board directed the project engineer to develop one design with added amenities. Emma Diercks has the story.

Jail captain retires

Carbon County elected officials, department heads and sheriff’s deputies converged on the Courthouse Friday afternoon to say their goodbyes to the Captain of the jail, who retired after more than two decades of service.
