Now that the State of Wyoming has dropped its mask mandate Carbon County School District 2 officials are discussing making changes to its Smart Start COVID-19 policy.
Smart Start is the label on the school reopening plans established statewide last Fall for social distancing, masks, facility cleaning and other COVID mitigation requirements. Sublette County schools have ended their Smart Start guidelines after Gov. Gordon let the Wyoming mask mandate expire.
At the CCSD2 School Board meeting last Monday night, the trustees and superintendent explored how funding, accreditation and morale among students and staff might be tied to the current policy and the future public health landscape. Emma Diercks has the story.
