Diagonal parking in downtown Rawlins will come back before city council in the near future. The Rawlins Urban Systems Committee will recommend the city council adopt a proposed amendment to municipal code that would allow vehicles in excess of 20 feet to park legally.
A lot of downtown shoppers violate the code with their new trucks, but police are reluctant to enforce the code.
Meanwhile, council has not acted to change the code to reflect the reality of modern vehicles. Cali O’Hare has followed the story for years, and has the latest update.

Click here to view the ordinance amending Title 10.33 that was drafted and proposed by City Attorney Amy Bach in March 2019. The City Council at the time postponed any vote on the issue, but never brought it back up.
