The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality has named Suzanne Engels as the new Solid and Hazardous Waste Division Administrator. DEQ Director Todd Parfittt made the announcement yesterday.

Engels experience includes 13 years with the agency where she worked within the solid and hazardous waste division and the water quality division. She has also worked with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as well as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Among Engel’s duties as the head of SHWD will be to oversee the state’s landfill remediation program, which has impacted communities across Wyoming including here in Carbon County.
