The Bureau of Land Management is looking to the public for help in identifying the individuals who have been dumping construction waste along the Jack Creek Road outside Saratoga over the past month.

BLM Law Enforcement Ranger Brent Mahl said the dumping is happening two miles out the Jack Creek Road just past a cattle crate on the left. Ranger Mahl said illegal dumping along the stretch of road outside town is not uncommon

After inspecting the scene Thursday morning, Ranger Mahl told Bigfoot 99 that a local resident who lives in the vicinity of the dumping cleaned up the construction debris and other trash long the dirt road this past weekend. The ranger commended the couple for their civic pride, and said it wasn’t the first time they’ve cleaned up the illegal messes left by others.

Mahl said the latest incident involved what he thought was someone involved with a remodeling project. Rather than taking the demo material to the dump where it belongs, they’re dumping it on public lands.

Ranger Mahl said if you see someone dumping trash illegally, report it by calling 911.
