The Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board on Thursday approved Business Ready Community Grants for several Wyoming cities, including one for Rawlins.
In late February, city officials requested a $50,000 planning grant from SLIB to develop a five-year economic plan for its community. The Wyoming Business Council had previously recommended the city’s funding request as worthy of SLIB’s consideration. WBC Community Development Director Noelle Reed presented the grant request to the state loan and investment board on behalf of Rawlins.
The plan will outline the economic vision, mission, and goals of the community; as well as strategies and tactics to achieve bring them to fruition.
SLIB also approved grant funding for Lander, Newcastle and Sheridan. Bigfoot 99’s Cali O’Hare will have more next week including SLIB’s decision not to fund a grant to help with the city’s water system.
