Free Fishing Day in Wyoming is Saturday, June 4th. Each year, Wyoming game and Fish Department sets aside the first Saturday of National Boating and Fishing Week as a free fishing day. For one day only, anyone can fish in Wyoming without a license.

All fishing regulations, creel and size limits, gear restrictions, and stream closures remain in effect.

Game and Fish officials say Free Fishing Day is a great time to pick up fishing as a new hobby. The Wyoming Game and Fish YouTube Channel has plenty of how-to videos to learn the sport, from how to spin fish to clean a trout or a burbot.

If you’re lucky enough to catch a fish and want to release it, game and fish biologist Gordon Edwards says keep the fish in the net in the water while you remove the hook. Edwards demonstrates how.
