A poll conducted in early June of Wyoming Republican voters that was obtained by NBC News shows what two earlier polls indicate. Liz Cheney needs a miracle — and every Democrat voter in the state — if she is going to overcome her opponent’s primary lead.

In the Fabrizio Lee poll dated June 6th, only a meager 26 percent support Cheney while Harriet Hageman has 58 percent of her party’s vote. On the flip side, only 29 percent of Republicans surveyed said they don’t approve of Hageman while Cheney drags along with a 73 percent disapproval rate.

The poll surveyed 400 likely Republican Primary voters. In the confidential memorandum that accompanied the results, pollsters Tony Fabrizio and David Lee note that the results were similar to a similar survey they conducted in December. They note a trend, though. “Harriet Hageman has become even more well-liked, while Liz Cheney’s already bad numbers have worsened with RPV,” the pollsters conclude. They sum up their poll numbers saying that Hageman leads by a 2-1 margin.

Fabrizio, a well-known Republican strategist, was the pollster for Donald Trump’s fall 2016 presidential campaign.

While not an open primary state, Wyoming does allow for voters to switch political party affiliations on the day of voting, and Cheney has already begged Democratic voters to save her career and even mailed them instructions on how to do so.

As of July 1, the current number of registered Democrat voters to Republicans is only 43,285 to 200,579. So even if Cheney were to gather half of the Democrat votes, the majority of GOP support that Hageman is projected to hold will still crush Cheney’s bid to stay on Capitol Hill.
