A young Saratoga couple were found dead over the weekend, leaving more questions than answers regarding the circumstances of their death. No details have been made available by local law enforcement, who have yet to issue an official statement on the event.
Saratoga Police Chief Mike Morris told Bigfoot 99 the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation of the incident that took place inside Saratoga town limits. Sheriff Alex Bakken was out of the office Monday and was unavailable for comment. The undersheriff is on vacation. At press time, the Sheriff’s Department had not released an official statement about the deaths.
Saratoga’s small town rumor mill and social media posts have been swirling with unconfirmed details, speculation and hearsay about the circumstances of the deaths. Regardless of the lack of information available from law enforcement, one thing is clear – the community is reeling at the loss of these two, young hard-working and well-liked individuals.
Chief Morris was unwilling to confirm if the two deaths were drug related.
Both Sheriff Alex Bakken and Undersheriff Shawn Kelly were unavailable for comment on Monday.
