Sheriff Bakken said the two were discovered by a family member. The sheriff said no foul play was suspected at this time.
Sheriff Bakken explained why the investigation is being handled by his office.
The investigation is on-going. Details are scarce. Sheriff Bakken said he is waiting for results from the toxicology report. He said it has been a long time since fentanyl was found in Saratoga. Sheriff Bakken said he doesn’t think the town is being overrun with drugs, but people should be aware of the dangers of fentanyl.
Both Wingo and Kinney’s families expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community. Kinney’s father said he’s received countless phone calls from people who knew his son and were saddened by his loss.
This Friday, at 1:30 p.m., a celebration of life for both Cassidee Wingo and Rick Kinney will be held in the Platte Valley Community Center’s Great Hall. Everyone is invited.
