The Carbon County Museum is hosting a community event this weekend.
This Saturday, as a kickoff to the summer season, the Carbon County Museum is holding an event called Day Out at the Carbon County Museum. Museum Director Tom Mensik said the event will draw attention to the museum. Mensik said various county and city agencies will be involved.
Mensik said the event will feature live demonstrations by area artisans. The museum director said the Carbon County Library will offer activities and free books as well.
The event will also feature face painting and candle making demonstrations.
Mensik said a food truck and local merchants will be on site. The museum director said the museum will receive a percentage of all food and items sold during the event.
Mensik said the museum’s new curator of collections and exhibits Andrew Webster will be on hand to talk with people about what his job entails. The museum director said he will offer tours of items the museum does not have on display.
Mensik said on June 10th, the section of Walnut Street near the museum will be closed to traffic. The museum director said demonstrations and activities begin at 11:00am. Mensik encouraged people to attend the Day Out with the Carbon County Museum event.
The Day Out with the Carbon County Museum is this Saturday, June 10th from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The Carbon County Museum is located at 904 West Walnut Avenue in Rawlins. Admission is free.
