Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has asked the Public Service Commission to hold additional public meetings on a proposed power rate increase for Wyoming customers.
The PSC is reviewing a proposed rate increase from Rocky Mountain Power.
“This proposal is notable for the people of Wyoming, and I support the effort to make sure there is as much public engagement as possible ahead of any decision,” Governor Gordon said in a statement on Monday.
The PSC held a public comment hearing in Rock Springs in July. Another is set for August 24th in Casper, this Thursday. Governor Gordon encourages members of the public concerned about the potential rate increase to submit their comments to the PSC.
Rocky Mountain Power will have its lobbyists and lawyers attending.
This proposal is notable for the people of Wyoming,” the governor said, noting that he supports the effort to make sure as much public comments are heard of any decision.
The PSC is an independent agency. It will make a determination by the end of the year on Rocky Mountain Power’s request for a rate increase.
