Work on the Gateway South project in Carbon County is underway.
Earlier this month, Pacificorp crews began running high voltage lines across Interstate 80. Rocky Mountain Power and PacifiCorp Company Spokesman David Eskelsen told Bigfoot99 that Pacificorp hired Huston, Texas-based Quanta Infrastructure Services Group to build the 266 electrical transmission towers in Carbon County. Eskelsen said 550 Quanta Infrastructure employees worked on the project last month.
Construction officially began on the Gateway South transmission line project in Carbon County on June 2nd, 2022. The project is designed to transport electricity generated at the Aeolus substation north of Medicine Bow to Mona, Utah. The entire line will be 416 miles in length, with 88 miles running through Carbon County.
Eskelsen said the Gateway South project is expected to be completed by December 31st of next year, 2024.
