The Office of the Secretary of State has filed a Notice of Intent to amend Chapter 2 of its Election Procedures with the Wyoming Administrative Rules System. The change would require voters to provide acceptable identification for proof of identity and proof of residency when registering to vote in Wyoming. The rule change also seeks to provide uniformity and clarity for evidence of citizenship when registering to vote.
In a prepared statement, Secretary of State Chuck Grey said the proposed revisions are a key way of fulfilling the state government’s obligation of ensuring voters are bona fide residents of Wyoming.
Secretary of State Grey thanked the state’s county clerks for participating in the process of developing the proposed rule. The public comment period ends January 26, 2024.
