Carbon County 4-H has announced it’s newest Hall of Fame inductee.

On January 16th, 4-H leader Jessica Paul was inducted into the Carbon County 4-H hall of fame. Paul’s picture now hangs next to her grandmother and aunt.

Paul said her family has been involved with 4-H since the 1970’s. When she turned eight-years-old, Paul said she naturally joined the youth development program as well.

Paul said she started her 4-H career by working with dogs and horses. After aging out of the program at 18, Paul said she rejoined the organization as a dog and horse leader.

As the 4-H dog fair superintendent, Paul runs the annual Carbon County Fair dog show and Mutton Bustin’ events. During the off season, Paul said she and her family members, who are also 4-H volunteers, travel across Wyoming judging dog shows.

Paul now oversees the Carbon County 4-H dog and horse programs as a key leader. The 4-H leader said she wants to teach the next generation to work hard for their goals.

Paul isn’t the only member of her family to be inducted into the Carbon County 4-H hall of fame. Paul’s grandmother, Marylin Mills, and aunt, Lorraine Howieson, are also 4-H hall of famers. Paul said her grandmother volunteered with the organization’s dog and sports programs for over two decades. Instead of dogs, Paul said her aunt chose to focus on horse related programs.

Paul said she always dreamed of being in the Carbon County 4-H hall of fame with her family members. The 4-H leader said the official recognition shows that her hard work and dedication is appreciated.

In the official statement, Carbon County 4-H thanked Paul for her years of service and dedication to the youth of Carbon County.
