The Encampment K-through-12 School will select a new principal tonight.

After 19 years, Mike Erickson is stepping down from the job. To choose his replacement, school officials will hold a principal candidate forum tonight at 6:30pm. Jacob Johnston and A’Lisa Mueller, the two candidates, will answer questions from school staff and the community before one of them is chosen to be the school’s newest principal.

A principal selection committee, made up of school staff, parents, and community members, has evaluated applications for the open position. After review by the selection committee, Johnston and Mueller were chosen to move into the next phase of the process: the principal candidate community forum.

Tonight, school staff and members of the community will have a chance to question the candidates in person. Johnston and Mueller will be asked a series of pre-selected questions from the event moderator. Afterwards, audience members will be able to directly questions the candidates themselves.

After the questioning is completed, attendees of tonight’s candidate forum will be given feedback forms, allowing them weight in on who they think would be the best replacement for Principal Erickson.  However, the final decision lies in the hands of the school’s principal selection committee.

The Encampment K through 12 School Principal Candidate Community Forum is tonight in the school gymnasium. The forum will begin at 6:30pm.
