Saratoga police are investigating a potential suicide that occurred on East Bridge Avenue last week.

Saratoga Police Chief Mike Morris said on Tuesday afternoon, multiple reports of an unresponsive person inside of a vehicle were received by his department. The vehicle was located outside of the Lazy River Cantina on East Bridge Avenue.

Chief Morris confirmed that the person is not a Carbon County resident and that suicide is being investigated as the cause of death. However, the police chief would not disclose any additional information, such as the person’s sex or date of birth.

At 1:49 on Tuesday afternoon, the Lazy River Cantina’s Facebook page posted that it would be opening late due to a “medical situation” that occurred in front of the restaurant. Three hours later, at 4:50pm, a second message was posted saying that the restaurant was open for business.

Chief Morris asked for anyone with information about the incident to contact the Saratoga Police Department at 326-8316.
