Presidential politics are coming to Wyoming.
Donald Trump will be in Jackson on Saturday, August 10 to speak at a private fundraising event.
Jackson is home-away-from-home for the Cheney’s—Dick, the former Vice President, and his daughter, Liz. The last time Trump was in Wyoming was in May of 2022. He appeared in Casper, as a show of support for Harriet Hageman, who was running against Liz Cheney for Wyoming’s lone seat in the U.S. Congress.
The crowd, that Saturday, was large and enthusiastically wild for Trump. Hageman went onto steamroll Cheney in the primary election.
Hageman is scheduled to appear at the luncheon in Jackson next month. The location of the event has not been published. Entry to the fundraiser will cost $5,000 per person.
Teton County is known for fundraisers as one of the richest counties in the nation. The per-capita income sits at more than $250,000 per household.
The Economic Policy Institute reports that the top 1% of households in Teton County have an average annual income of approximately $28 million, with some individuals earning as much as $16 million per year. Much of the extreme wealth is derived from investment income.
The Trump fundraiser aims to tap into Teton County’s wealth. A photo with Trump is expected to cost $35,000 or a pledge of $70,000. Make sure you smile when the picture is taken.
Co-Hosting packages, which include a table, lunch and a photo with Trump, will cost $150,000.
Jackson Hole is home to many wealthy donors who use their money to influence their political causes.
