Another Cowboy is on a watch list headed into the season, which is a little over two weeks away. Wyoming linebacker Shae Suiaunoa was named to the Butkus Award selection list. He joins 50 other players from across the nation to make the list, which includes two returning semi-finalists from 2023, Deontae Lawson of Alabama and Jay Higgins of Iowa.

Suiaunoa started all 13 games for the Cowboys last season. He was named third team All-MW by Phil Steele. He ranked second on the team with 93 total tackles. He also added 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and an interception, which came against Colorado State in Laramie.

Wyoming went on to beat the Rams 24-15 in Laramie last season in a Friday night matchup.  Andrew Peasley threw two touchdown passes, Harrison Waylee topped 100 yards on the ground and Wyoming became bowl-eligible with the win over its arch-enemy.
