Carbon County and Forest Service firefighters worked together to put out a fire on Pennock Mountain.

Around 12:50 pm Sunday afternoon, the Saratoga Police Department received a call of a fire east of town, on Pennock Mountain.

U.S. Forest Service Public Affairs Officer Aaron Voos told Bigfoot99 that, as of Monday morning, the roughly one-acre fire was nearly extinguished.

Saratoga firefighters who responded to the initial call were back in town by 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

Voos said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
